about

As 2023 ended and 2024 rolled in, I had the flu which was crushing my big plans to push streaming harder (or finally taking it with some sort of intent) which crushed my motivation for it.
Instead, as I poked around some of the Discord servers I am in (lurker I am) it turned out that, for once, there was a channel for posting your musical creations. (If you've ever tried to post in an 'art' channel that is focused on visual art, you'll know that it generally gets glossed over.)
What I found was someone declaring their intentions to participate in Jamuary... Wait, what the hell is Jamuary? Turns out it's the musical equivalent for all those month long "push yourself to do a thing"... things...

A couple days late, and still not exactly up for much, I decided that sounded like a fine idea. Now I know why so many people drop out of those types of things.

All said, I managed to persevere, and if I do say so, for the better. I learned, I evolved, I integrated, and overall I feel like there has been more than a marginal improvement in what I do.

So now, I share with you, the 45 tracks (yes there are only 31 days in January, sometimes I just didn't stop myself) that make up nearly three hours of music that I made over the course of a month at a rate of approximately one song a day. (Some days I missed and had to make up for and some days I just didn't stop, like I said...)

>> Technical Information <<
All music was created within Bespoke using an array of VST instruments and effects, as well as recorded instruments, and a few errant sample loops.
These include: bass guitar, electric guitar, and viola.
All performances aside from samples are done by me.
I don't even remember where most, if not all, of the sampled elements come from.

>> Special Thanks <<
demi-P for revealing Jamuary to me, and also participating (because everything is better with more people).

The Grounded Aeropilot and Jordo (fellow 'collective' members) for listening and encouraging me through it.

My girlfriend for not killing me while I spent my time cooped up in my room, and talking about it too much.
